Reckless too drying

I recently bought the lippie color Reckless because of how good it looked on Jessica! I received it quickly and before it was due. I absolutely love the color, but upon application, it’s drying. It does lay down to matte, but I ended up putting a clear gloss over it. My husband loves matte lipstick, but it was just too dry for me. The color is stunning! Maybe I got a bad one? Or I need to use it more? I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I did pay for something I probably won’t use again.
